Weekly Update Sept. 18-22 | Forms, Busing, Lunch Supervision, Lates & Absences, Volunteer, Fun Lunches

Student Forms

All families should have received a message from the CBE to update your forms.  These forms are required on a yearly basis and need to be updated for accuracy and new school year permissions.  All forms can be found at your MyCBE account.

These are called Demographic Verification Forms.

It is critical that these are completed as they are connected to the funding we receive from the government to provide quality programs for learning.

If you do not have a MyCBE account, on the MyCBE page click on Create a MyCBE Account. For online help refer, to MyCBE - Creating an Account (includes instructions and a video).

It is critical for families to have this account for communication and report card purposes.

Bus Students

If your child/children ride the bus, it is essential that they are registered for transportation.  Registration does not mean immediate payment, however if your child is not registered for transportation, it will mean they can be removed from the bus service.  Please register in your MyCBE Account.

Lunchroom Supervision

All students staying at school for lunch are required to register for lunchroom supervision.  This is done in your MyCBE Account.  Students are required to register so that we can have adequate supervisors during the noon hour.  Registration, again, does not mean immediate payment, however students who are not registered will not be able to stay regularly as the fees are directly tied to the supervisors who work with your children at lunch.

Student Safety

Our School Safety Patrols will not be at the crossings for the first couple of weeks, as there is yearly training that has to be completed first.  Please make sure that you and your children are safe by crossing at the corners.

For parking and driving safety, it is critical that we leave the space in front of the main doors open for the buses.  Additionally, it is very important that we are mindful of the driveways belonging to the neighbours of our school.  Please DO NOT PARK IN FRONT of them.

Student Lates & Absences

If your child is going to be late or absent, please call the office to let us know.  This is also important if your child will not be on the bus at the end of the day or someone new will be picking them up.  It is very important that we have this information, so we know they are safe.

Volunteer Clearances

If you would like to Volunteer and have not completed a Police Clearance yet, please bring your government issued ID to the office and Edwina will give you the required letter so that you are able to come in.  2 pieces of government issued ID is required.  We can also get you set up at the Open House.

If you are already registered and would like to come in on a regular basis, please contact Edwina to be on our regular call list.  You can email her at eoewart@cbe.ab.ca

Weekly Mantra

I Can Handle It (SEL Competency: Self-Awareness)

"Think of 3 ways you could handle your situation, and then pick one. Who could you talk to if you can't decide on one way to 'handle' your situation."
