Class Assignments and Meeting Places

You will receive a welcome email from your child's teacher by noon of August 28, 2026. If you do not receive an email, please contact Chaparral School office at 403-777-6424. In this email, details regarding the first day of school will be shared.

Kindergarten families, please note that there will be a "staggered entry." An email outlining how this works will be sent directly to you. It is important that Kindergarten families arrange for the alternating Friday schedule, as there are different dates and start/end times. Students will need to bring to school:

• A pair of indoor running shoes to be left at school. (All students change their shoes upon arrival to help keep the school clean and for Physical Education).
• A quick snack (something that can be eaten in 5-10 minutes). Protein based snacks are awesome for learning!
• A healthy lunch that can be eaten in 15 minutes. (Sorry - no heating/hot water available).
• A small (8-10 oz) water bottle. (Each class has a sink for refills). Please-no energy drinks, pop or high sugar/caffeinated drinks.
• A change of clothes, to be kept in backpack in a baggie, in case of an emergency change is needed. Please put your child's name on the baggie.
• Clothing appropriate for the weather. We are a community that goes outside a least twice a day. Students will need headwear, warm jackets (layering is strongly encouraged), mittens/gloves, snow pants (when appropriate) and good footwear. Students will be outside in the rain, snow and wind (up to - 20 C).

**Pro-tip: Label all bags, jackets, shoes, mittens, hats, etc., with your child's name. We always try to reunite students with missing items.

***To avoid disappointment, please note that Smartwatches and Cell Phones are "Away for the Day" while at school.

Students will be supplied with:

• All necessary school supplies such as pencils, erasers, books, art supplies, etc. All personal school supplies and stationary can be for home use.
• Fidgets-Regulation tools (if/when necessary). Students will need to keep all personal fidgets, toys, 3D printing, stuffies, etc., at home. (Accommodations for learning may be made on an individual basis with your child's teacher).
