Parent-Teacher Conferences

Parent-Teacher Conferences are this week. In addition to the regular conference times for all of the grades at Chaparral School, there will be no school for Kindergarten on Thursday, November 23 during the day to accommodate the number of conferences that need to occur.

All grades from Grade K-6 are open for bookings in 15 min intervals starting at 4:30pm- 8:00pm on Thursday Nov 23 and 8:30am-12:00pm on Friday November 24. Please confirm a time to meet with your child(ren)’s teacher(s) through your MyCBE account conference bookings or by following this link https://cbe.ab.ca/support/Pages/MyCBE- PowerSchool-School-Conferences.aspx

Lost & Found

Our Lost & Found Cabinets are overflowing! Please be sure to collect your child(ren)’s lost items during conferences. Any leftover clothing that is still not claimed by the Christmas break, will be donated. We sadly do not have room to store all of these lovely items.

Winter Concert Information

We are so excited to share a Winter Concert with our school community this year. Our Winter Concert will be presented by our Kindergarten – Grade 3 classes. In order to accommodate as many family members as possible, we will be splitting into 2 separate evenings. If your child’s last name starts with the letters A-L, they will be presenting on Wednesday December 13 and those with the last name starting with M-Z will be presenting on Thursday December 14th. Our Grade 3 actors will need to attend both evenings.
Each student will be able to have 3 guests to watch them perform on the night they are assigned. We will also have an afternoon show on each of the days as a dress rehearsal for the evening show. Family and guests are invited to attend these performances also.

Eventbrite tickets will be issued and required at the door. More information to follow as we get closer to the date.

Next School Council Meeting

Our next meeting will be held on Tuesday December 12 at 6:30pm via an online format. This will be a special meeting to approve the newly re-vamped Chaparral School Council Bylaws. Please watch for an update in the coming weeks. Quorum will be required for this meeting.

Popcorn & Fun Lunch Days

Please visit www.healthyhunger.ca to make your selections and place your orders. Kindergarten students are invited to participate in popcorn days only as they are not at school for the lunch hour.

The next Popcorn Day is December 14.
Our next Fun Lunch Day is January 11. It will be from Boston Pizza.

Cookie Dough Fundraiser – Last Week!!

All families should have received a flyer from our fundraising coordinators. You can support Chaparral’s School Council by purchasing delicious ready-to-bake cookie and muffin dough. All proceeds go toward supporting special initiatives and purchasing additional learning supplies and opportunities for the students. We lessen charges to families for these events through our fundraising ventures such as this!!

Our new vendor, Indeygo, is a Canadian company that has been in business since 1996 and has sold over 18 million cookies! Choose from ten fabulous pre- portioned cookie dough and six scoop-and-bake muffin dough flavours.
