Spring Concert Celebrations

We are so proud of our Grade 4-6 students and the staff for 2 wonderful nights of concerts.  The High Seas play was exciting and brought out a different level of technical skills than the students are typically used to!  They did amazing!

A special thank you to Ms. Cottrell for organizing all of the classes around the artwork in the gym, Mr. Fidler and Mr. Gimbel for all of the behind the scenes support they provided and especially Mrs. Robertson for her direction, vision and commitment to making this a brilliant performance.

Mental Health Week – May 6 - 10

Mental Health Week Resources

Every year since 1951, the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) has hosted Mental Health Week. This year, May 6 - 12 marks the 73 year.

On May 8, we will recognize this with Hats on for Mental Health.  Staff, students and guests are welcome to wear a hat this day to recognize and show support for individuals living with mental health difficulties.

Yearbook Orders

The link to order a yearbook will be out very soon!  The final price is $20.00 per book including GST.  We will send an order link as soon as it is available!  Yearbooks are expected to arrive just prior to the end of the year.

Parking Concerns

Please remember that the area immediately in front of the main doors and to the south, is a bus zone and there are no parking signs in place.

In order for everyone to be able to drop off and pick up their children, please use the remaining space along Chaparral Drive as a quick stop only. If you are wanting to get out of your vehicle or stay at the park, please park further down or around the corner in order to let other parents stop and go during drop off and pick up.  We thank you in advance for your help.

Spirit Day

Our next Spirit Day is this Thursday, May 9.  It will be Favourite Colour Day. Students are invited to wear as many pieces of clothing in their favorite colour as they can or want to.  It will be fun to see what colour shows the strongest presentation on this day.

Moving forward, the Spirit Days for the rest of the year are:

  • May – Favorite Colour Day
  • June – Backward/Opposite Day

We will continue with the ranked favorites list as we begin again in September before setting our new list for next school year.

Weekly Mantra

Storms always pass.  (SEL Competency: Self-Awareness, Self-Management)

When it feels like everything is working against you, know that it will only feel like this for a short while, not a long while.  You will have many ups and downs in your life, but the down times don’t last.  Focus on the up times.
