From the Office

Dogs on School Property

This is a reminder that the CBE has an Administrative Regulation: Animals in Schools, which restricts animals on school property. Dogs are not permitted on school grounds unless expressly approved under this policy (e.g., service animals or authorized educational purposes).

In addition, the City of Calgary Responsible Pet Ownership Bylaw prohibits dogs on school property, including playgrounds and fields.

Parents and community members are asked to ensure that dogs remain on-leash and on sidewalks when picking up children.

Please also practice safe pet interactions. Always ask permission before touching another person’s pet, and be mindful not to overwhelm animals. Even gentle pets may react negatively if frightened or overstimulated. Our goal is to keep everyone safe.
