Winter Concert This Week

Our Winter concert is this week.  It will be presented by our Kindergarten – Grade 3 classes.  Tickets were sent home on Thursday.  Each child was given 3 tickets to the concert.  If your child has yellow tickets, they are performing on Wednesday, December 13.  If they have green tickets, they are performing on Thursday, December 14.  Our Grade 3 actors will need to attend both evenings.

Students are asked to be at the school by 6:00pm so that we can start on time. 

Everyone MUST have a ticket to enter.  This includes children on laps.  It is connected to fire code and not seats in the gym.  If you have more that 3 people who are wanting to see the concert, each day will have a dress rehearsal at 2:15pm on each day of the concerts.  Extra family members are encouraged to attend in the afternoon.  Families who do not have their tickets at the door will be asked to wait until just prior to the show starting.  You will be able to enter at that time as long as there are still seats available.

Mayor’s Food Drive

We are collecting non-perishable food items for the Mayor’s Food Drive.  Students and families are invited to bring in canned or boxed food items and place them in one of the boxes in the front foyer.  The food will be picked up closer to the holidays. 

Lost & Found

Our Lost & Found Cabinets are overflowing!  Please be sure to collect your child(ren)’s lost items during conferences.  Any leftover clothing that is still not claimed by the Christmas break, will be donated.  We sadly do not have room to store all of these lovely items.

Adopt-a-Family

Next School Council Meeting

Our next meeting will be held on Tuesday December 12 at 6:30pm via an online format. This will be a special meeting to approve the newly re-vamped Chaparral School Council Bylaws.  Please watch for an update in the coming weeks.  Quorum will be required for this meeting.

Popcorn & Fun Lunch Days

Please visit www.healthyhunger.ca to make your selections and place your orders.  Kindergarten students are invited to participate in popcorn days only as they are not at school for the lunch hour.

The next Popcorn Day is December 14.
Our next Fun Lunch Day is January 11.  It will be from Boston Pizza.

We will be holding a week of special days for the week of December 18-22.  A list of the days will be sent out in the coming days.
