Important Information
Spring Concert Ticket Information
The Spring Concert will focus on our students in Grades 4 – 6 and will take place on May 1 and 2. Students with the last names starting with A-K are asked to attend the concert on May 1. Students with the last name starting with L-Z are asked to attend on May 2. Tickets will go home on Monday.
Each student will be issued 3 tickets to share with their families. All audience members MUST have a ticket to gain entry to the concert. This includes small children and babies as they count into our fire code capacity. Tickets will be collected at the door. Families who would like to have more members attend, are asked to attend one of the dress rehearsals in the afternoon of the same concert evening.
Thank you in advance for your understanding as these limits are based on safety guidelines and fire code policies, not school-based decision making.
Spring Concert Information from Mrs. Robertson
"The High Seas" will be performing on May 1 and 2. Grades 4, 5, and 6 will be presenting the musical.
Costumes
Students & Families are in charge of putting together their own costumes. That being said, if anyone needs help or has any questions, please let Ms. Robertson or our administration know.
Grade 4 (Sea Creatures, Mermaids, Mermen)
Dress up as a sea creature or merman or mermaid. Wearing blue and/or green clothes. Putting a simple fish, shark, octopus, etc., cut-out on a headband above the head is an easy idea. Students can wear more elaborate costumes if they'd like.
Grade 5 (Pirates)
Dress in a Black t-shirt and dark pants or jeans. Pirate hat or bandana, and any other pirate gear desired. Swords are not encouraged.
Grade 6 (Sailors)
Dress in a White t-shirt and black/dark pants. Sailor hat (white & blue), and other sailor items if desired.
Parking Concerns
The Spring weather is here and so is the extended sunshine in our day. This is causing greater parking concerns again. Please remember that the area immediately in front of the main doors is a bus zone and parking is prohibited, even just to drop and go.
In order for everyone to be able to drop off and pick up their children, please use the remaining space in front of the school as a quick stop only. If you are wanting to get out of your vehicle or stay at the park, please park further down or around the corner in order to let other parents stop and go during drop off and pick up. We thank you in advance for your help.
Calling Any Parents with Electrical Experience
We are looking for a parent who is knowledgeable in wiring and electricity. We have a light cube that is perfect for many science topics, but it needs to be re-wired. If you are able to help us, please contact Ms. Bratko at clbratko@cbe.ab.ca
Spirit Day
Our next Spirit Day is May 9. It will be Favourite Colour Day. Students are invited to wear as many pieces of clothing in their favorite colour as they can or want to. It will be fun to see what colour shows the strongest presentation on this day.
Moving forward, the Spirit Days for the rest of the year are:
- May – Favorite Colour Day
- June – Backward/Opposite Day
We will continue with the ranked favorites list as we begin again in September before setting our new list for next school year.

Weekly Mantra
I belong. We all belong. (SEL Competency: Relationship Skills, Social Awareness)
We might be different in many ways, but we are all human, which means we all have a right to be here. What does it mean to belong?
