Great Start!!
We have had a fantastic start to the 2026-27 school year. We are so happy with how our school community is coming in ready to learn and excited for a new school year. Thank you to all our school community members who are coming together to make this start go so smoothly.
School Safety
Students are reminded to use the crosswalks and cross the street with the patrols when coming to and from school. Students who are riding bikes, scooters, etc., are asked to walk their “wheeled” transportation when on the front sidewalk of the school.
Parents are also reminded that the front of the school is a bus zone only. Please do not park in front of the school by the main doors during beginning and end of day. Additionally, if you are parking across the street from the school, utilize the crosswalks to come to the doors. Our bylaw officers do monitor this space and will be addressing jaywalking.
School Entry and Exit Doors
All students have been designated a set of doors for exit at the end of the day and for recess and lunch transitions. In the AM, students can enter through whichever door is closest when they get to school. At the end of the day, only bus students will be utilizing the main doors of the school to leave for the day.
Parents are reminded that ALL adults must enter through the main school doors and not through the doors with your child. There are strict policies in place for the safety and security of our school. Staff will be re-directing adults who try to come in through doors other than the main entrance. You will need to sign in with the office staff to go beyond the office area. Thank you for working with us to keep our school a safe place to be.

School Demographics and Annual Consent Forms
All families should have received an email this week from the CBE regarding forms that need to be submitted on a yearly basis.
All forms MUST be completed by September 14 for all students. This is a registration requirement and is fulfilled yearly. It is to ensure we have current, accurate information for your family. It is how we base our communication.
If you have any questions regarding your forms, please call Mrs. Kersch or Mrs. Gerber at the office for assistance.
School & Office Hours
Our school start time is 8:55am, and afternoon dismissal is at 3:30pm. Our lunch break is VERY short and will be from 12:20pm-1:00pm. This year, all students will go outside to play at the beginning of lunch and then all will come in to eat. This will ensure that they all get the most time for play and eating rather than transitions.
Our office hours are:
- Monday – Thursday 8:15am-4:00pm; Friday 8:15am-1:30pm.
Please be sure to connect with the office if your child is going to be late, absent or if you need to pick them up early. The school phone number is 403-777-6424.
The attendance line is option ‘1’. Extension ‘0’ will get you through to one of our office staff. The attendance line is open 24/7, so you can call and leave a message at any point of the day or night.
Fidgets and Toys
Students’ personal toys, 3D printing, fidgets, and office supplies should stay at home. This includes outdoor equipment. School equipment can be provided for recess activities. Wall balls are an exception as we do not have them for students to use. This will help decrease unnecessary issues that arise stemming from these items. If a student needs a fidget, the school can provide it.
Cell Phones & Smart Watches
All phones and smart watches are away for the day while at school. This includes lunch, recess, and before/after school in the halls. These items may be kept (in off/silent mode) in back packs. This is part of the AB Education legislation on “Away for the Day” that was introduced a couple of years ago. We will be following up with families for students who do not adhere to this policy. We appreciate you support in advance.
