Fall Break
This coming week is Fall Break. As such, the school will be closed Nov 10-12. School resumes on Nov 13.

Remembrance Day is on Tuesday. We would like to take a moment to thank the veterans in our community for their service.
New Administrative Assistant and Lunch Supervisor
Our new Admin Assistant has been hired. We are pleased to have Paula Kersch join our staff starting November 17.
Kristen Blunt, parent and school volunteer, will be joining us on Nov. 17 also as a lunchroom supervisor.
We are excited to have Paula and Kristen at Chaparral School.
Holiday Support
The holiday season will be here before we know it. This is a time of year that we see more families needing support. If support at Christmas time is something that you would benefit from, please contact Mrs. Robinson and Ms. Bratko so we can look into options for support.
Safety Alert!
We really want to keep all of our students who are walking to school safe and need everyone’s help. We don’t want small actions to have big consequences.
Please….
· Escort your small children across the road.
· Never let them out on the road without parking first.
· Cars cannot park closer than 5 meters to the corner/crosswalk. There is parking farther down the road.
· Never pass a stopped car at a crosswalk

From the Office
Lunches and Snacks
The support of Brown Bagging for Kids is proving to be very beneficial for some students. We know that family situations change, and we want to be responsive to that. If your child would benefit from this lunch support, please contact Mrs. Robinson or Ms. Bratko so we can make sure they are on the list to receive a lunch.
We understand that some students may need this service on a periodic basis. We will be letting families know if your child is accessing a lunch from school. By contacting you, we only wish to inform you that your child may need more lunch or snack each day.
Backpacks
We still have some backpacks to give to those who need one. If your child needs a backpack, please contact Mrs. Robinson or Ms. Bratko if your child could use one of them. They are new and large enough for a library book.
From School Council
Meeting
Our next meeting will be November 20 at 6:30pm – Grades 2 is presenting. This is our AGM also. We will be voting in the new executive. Quorum is needed (25 people minimum) Please plan to attend and help support the learning of your children.
Fun Lunch
Fun Lunch is on Nov 20. It is Edo.
Spirit Day
Our next Spirit Day will be on Thursday November 20. We will have Stuffie and a Flashlight Day on this day! Students and staff are welcome to bring their favourite stuffed animal and a flashlight. We will do some fun activities that incorporate both.

We have a Month at a glance calendar that will be distributed at the beginning of each month. Updates will be posted on our website as they occur.
