Parent Teacher Conferences

Thank you to all our families for attending our parent teacher conferences.  We love sharing your children’s progress with you. 

Spring Break

This week - March 23 - March 27 is Spring Break.  School is closed. 

Spring Concert – Imagine a World

Please return your concert ticket request forms back ASAP.  We are wanting to confirm numbers for each of the days, so it is important to have these back

Mrs. Robertson will be sending out costume information in the coming days also.  Each grade will have its own costume.  They are simple and should be easy to put together.  Please connect if you have any questions.

Toys and “Extras” at School

This is a gentle reminder that toys, Pokémon cards, school supplies from home and any noise making fidgets should not come to school.  We highly encourage that students who need a fidget have a conversation with their teacher to find an appropriate tool that is not distracting to the learning.

Trading and selling of toys is not allowed at school. 

Speech Language Offering for Kg-Grade 2 Parents

Our Speech and Language team is hosting 2 parent sessions in April and May.  The first session will focus on literacy, and the second will focus on speech sounds.  Please see the information below along with the link to register.

APEGA Science Night

Our Science Night is back. The APEGA team is planning to return on Thursday, April 2.  This is a fun evening of science-based activities that all families are welcome to came and participate in.  Bring the whole family along!!

HOLD the DATE – Parent Workshop

🌟 Parent Workshop with Author Angela Murphy – April 16, 2026

This workshop is being brought to our community in a joint effort between Chaparral School and MidSun School.

We are excited to share that Angela Murphy, author of Angela and the Wonder Pups, will be visiting our school community this spring for a special parent/guardian learning opportunity.

Thanks to collaboration between our local schools and the use of ABE grant funding, we are pleased to offer the following free parent/guardian workshop: (90 minutes)

  • 📅 Thursday, April 16, 2026
  • 🕡 6:30–8:00 PM
  • 📍 MidSun School Gymnasium

This engaging evening session will focus on supporting children’s well-being, emotional regulation, and connection through Angela’s work and resources.

Student Fees

Please be sure to check your myCBE account on a regular basis.  With more field trips happening as we head into the Spring, there will be changes to your account on a semi-regular basis, depending on which class your child(ren) are in.

From School Council

Our next meeting will be April 9, 2026, at 6:30 PM – Grade 5 is presenting.

 Fun Snack is on March 19.  It is Spring Cookies. Please note, there is no school for Kindergarten on this day.

 Our next Spirit Day will be on Thursday April 9, 2026.  We will have Career Day on this day! Students and staff are encouraged to dress as your favourite career or as a person in a career you would like to have one day.
