Parent-Teacher Conferences
Our Conference Manager program is open. Families are invited to book a conference time with your child’s teacher. You can do so on the MyCBE website.
Conferences are scheduled for Thursday, March 19 and Friday, March 20. Kindergarten is available from 9:00 AM - 3:30 PM on the Thursday and all Grades (including Kindergarten) from 4:30 PM - 8:00 PM on Thursday and 8:30 AM - 12:00 PM on Friday. There is no school for Kindergarten on Thursday.
We understand that this timeframe is during the important holiday of Eid al-Fitr for some of our families. If you need to schedule an alternate time with your child’s teacher as a result, please connect with them directly.
Book Fair
The Scholastic Book Fair is running all next week in our school library. Students will have an opportunity to visit the book fair during their scheduled library time. Spring Break
The week of March 23-March 27 is Spring Break. School is closed.
Spring Concert – Imagine a World
We are happy to share that our Spring Concert planning has begun. It is based on the book by Ron Gonsalves, that we use for our school mantras. It is called “Imagine a World”.
A request for which show your family is able to attend went home this week. Please complete and return to the school by Thursday March 19 so we can plan accordingly.
There are 2 tickets per family available.
Kindergarten is not participating in this concert. Instead, they will have their own min-concert later in the school year.
Speech Language Offering for Kg-Grade 2 Parents
Our Speech and Language team is hosting 2 parent sessions in April and May. The first session will focus on literacy, and the second will focus on speech sounds. Please see the Invite Language and Reading Tying It Together 2026 along with the link to register.
APEGA Science Night
Our Science Night is back. The APEGA team is planning to return on Thursday April 2. This is a fun evening of science-based activities that all families are welcome to came and participate in. Bring the whole family along!!
HOLD the DATE – Parent Workshop
🌟 Parent Workshop with Author Angela Murphy – April 16, 2026
This workshop is being brought to our community in a joint effort between Chaparral School and MidSun School.
We are excited to share that Angela Murphy, author of Angela and the Wonder Pups, will be visiting our school community this spring for a special parent/guardian learning opportunity.
Thanks to collaboration between our local schools and the use of ABE grant funding, we are pleased to offer the following free parent/guardian workshop: (90 minutes)

- 📍 MidSun School Gymnasium
This engaging evening session will focus on supporting children’s well-being, emotional regulation, and connection through Angela’s work and resources.

Please be sure to check your myCBE account on a regular basis. With more field trips happening as we head into the Spring, there will be changes to your account on a semi-regular basis, depending on which class your child(ren) are in.

Our next meeting will be April 9, 2026, at 6:30 PM – Grade 5 is presenting.
Fun Snack is on March 19. It is Spring Cookies. Please note, there is no school for Kindergarten on this day.
Our next Spirit Day will be on Thursday April 9, 2026. We will have Career Day on this day! Students and staff are encouraged to dress as your favourite career or as a person in a career you would like to have one day.
