Important Information

Spring Concert

Information about the Spring Concert came home as a letter on Friday.  Please return the form by April 4 at the latest.  We are so excited for this new opportunity.  The communication will be emailed also, however you must have subscribed to CBE commercial content to receive this information by email.

School Conferences

School conferences are coming on March 20 and 21.  This year, we are not able to hold our regular student led conferences for Spring.  Due to the CUPE labour disruption, all conferences will be online.  Conference booking opened for families on Thursday March 13 at 4:30pm.  When you book your conference, you will be sent a link to connect with the teacher at your chosen time.  We understand that these conferences are different than what we prefer to hold and want to encourage families to still join via the online format.  We love to celebrate your children’s successes and this is the way we can do this for this round.  We thank you in advance.

Scholastic Book Fair

The Scholastic Book Fair will still operate during the week of March 17-21.  More information will be coming home in the coming days.  It will look different than the past, however we are still hopeful that it will be successful.

We still need many volunteers to help make this event successful.  If you are able to support us with volunteering at the book fair, please sign up at: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/60B0E49ACA722A4FE3-55610206-scholastic

Any remaining items will be donated after the School Conferences on March 21.

Dogs on School Property

dog 1706116 1280Hello Hoomans…

Just a reminder that Canine Critters, like me, are not allowed on school property. I know this is ‘arf-ful’ but it is true.  Please keep me away from kids I don’t know and away from the school so that everyone is comfortable and safe.

Thank you for keeping me and everyone around me safe!!  You’re Grrrrrrrrrrr-eat!

Volunteering at Chaparral School

If you have completed your Police Check and our annual volunteer registration you are eligible to volunteer at our school.  Please email the school at chaparral@cbe.ab.ca is you would like to come in on a regular basis.  We are always looking for support to complete odd tasks throughout the school.

From our School Council

Our next School Council meeting is Thursday, April 10 at 6:30pm

We hope to be back in person, however we will pivot to an online meeting if necessary.  More information to be shared closer to the date.  Kindergarten and Phys Ed will be presenting.

Our Coco Brooks Fundraiser deadline is March 20.  Order information was sent home with your child(ren) and will be re-sent via email.  You will need to have subscribed to CBE to receive this email.

Fun Lunch/Fun Snacks & Spirit Days

Our next Fun Lunch day is April 10.  It is Boston Pizza.

Our next Spirit Day is Thursday, April 10.  It is Career Day! Students are invited to dress up in a chosen uniform or attire to represent a favorite career.  I wonder how many doctors or nurses or golfers or NHL players are in our midst??  Or any other wonderful possibilities.  It will be fun to see how careers can be represented!!

Weekly Mantra

Everything You Have Ever Loved Becomes A Part of You.

 (SEL Competency – Self-Awareness & IELLF – Spirit Domain)

The people, places, and experiences you cherish shape who you are. This mantra reminds us that the love and joy we experience stay with us, becoming a part of our identity and enriching our lives.
