For February, we challenge each other to practice more kindness, more love, more understanding toward others AND toward yourself. Spread some extra warmth and light during this month. The days are getting longer and the promise of spring is around the corner.

Important Information

Safety

The weather is getting much more tolerable and this is a good thing!  With the warmer weather, we also see an outdoor environment especially at the beginning and end of the day.  We have a few reminders for ALL students and families to follow:

  • Please DO NOT Jaywalk
  • Please remember that the front of the school is for busses only.  Parents are asked not to stop or park in this zone.
  • Please utilize the drop-off zone appropriately and do not park for more than 1-2 minutes in this area.
  • Students should be let out of the vehicle on the sidewalk side of the vehicle, not on the street side.
  • Parents are asked to stay with their children until 8:30am when they are able to enter the school.  There is no outdoor supervision and parents are responsible for the safety of your children until the 8:30am bell rings. With the exception of temperatures at – 20C or more, students are required to be outside until the 8:30 am bell.  If there is a notice  on the door indicating that it is a Blue Day, students will be allowed to enter the school.
  • Please slow down when passing the patrols and be mindful of their signs to ensure our students can all cross the street safely.

Communication at Our School

We pride ourselves in our ability to communicate with our families.  It has come to our attention that there are families not receiving certain emails. All families should have received an email this week regarding your email accounts and the ability to receive commercial content.

As a school, we are required by federal legislation, to identify emails that may be seen as spam or solicitation emails.  These emails are those that ask for money or elude to our wish for families to pay for a service or event at our school.  This includes, field trips, clubs, fun lunch days, guest speakers, Freezie Fridays, etc.  If there is money connected to it, we need to identify the email as such.

It is possible that families may start missing out on emails if you have chosen not to subscribe to these emails.  It is your choice to not subscribe and we will respect that.  We want families to know the impact of this choice for your family.  Moving forward, the Healthy Hunger website will be removed from the weekly update.  Please make note of it from previous updates so you can continue to participate in Fun Lunches should you choose.

To connect to this communication, you can Google à ‘subscribe to CBE’.  Please follow the links to connect.  Important Note:  there are options for this subscription.  You can subscribe via phone or email.  It is the email selection that is most important to continue receive ALL communication.

Weekly Mantra

Thing Won’t Always Go According to Plan

(SEL Competency – Self-Management Skills & IELLF – Spirit Domain)

"Sometimes things don’t go as planned, and the path can feel tough. But remember, challenges help us learn and grow. Keep going and stay strong—you’ve got this!"

Month at a Glance

We have moved to a Month at a glance calendar rather than in the weekly updates.  It will be provided at the beginning of the month each month and updates will be posted on our website as they occur.
