Planning for 2025-26

Please continue to send in your intentions for next year.  We are beginning the process of preparing for the next school year and it is very important to be able to plan for the correct number of students.  Please try to have these to us by Thursday of this coming week.  If you are planning to move schools and are staying within the CBE, please contact the office so that we can support with the necessary documents and guidance.

Student Lunches and Snacks

Please remember to send a good lunch and healthy snack to school with your child.  If you are needing assistance with lunches or snacks, please let us know.  We have the ability to support families who require this kind of support.

Volunteering at Chaparral School

This week is National Volunteer Appreciation Week!  We are incredibly grateful for the volunteers who support our school!   Your time and dedication allow us to bring extra opportunities to our students.  Thank you very much for all that you do!!

If you have completed your Police Check and our annual volunteer registration you are eligible to volunteer at our school.  Please email the school at chaparral@cbe.ab.ca is you would like to come in on a regular basis.  We are always looking for support to complete odd tasks throughout the school.

Please note, volunteering in individual classrooms is an independent teacher decision and is based on need for the support.  There are many other ways to volunteer in the school.  Please contact the office to find out more.

From our School Council

Our next School Council meeting is Thursday, May 8 at 6:30pm.  Gr. 5 will be presenting.  The meeting will be held at the school, in person.

Fun Lunch/Fun Snacks & Spirit Days

Our next Fun Lunch day is May 8.  It is Opa

Our next Spirit Day is Thursday, May 8.  It is Favourite Colour Day! Students are invited to dress up in their favourite colour from head to toe (if desired)!  It will be so cool to see all of the colours of the rainbow displayed.  I am so curious to see what colour is the most favourite among our students and staff.

Weekly Mantra

Make Room for What You Love.

(SEL Competency – Relationship Skills & IELLF – Mind Domain)

Making room for what you love means focusing on the things that make you happy and clearing out anything that doesn’t. If you spend too much time on things that don’t matter, you won’t have enough time for what makes you feel joyful. So, make space for what really makes your heart smile!
