Spring Concert
The Spring Concert responses were due on Friday. We will be able to honour more tickets for those families who are requesting them. As a reminder, the concert is on April 28 at 6:30pm at First Alliance Church. All of the students in the school are involved in this event and we look forward to seeing the students on a big stage. The technology in the building will also ensure that children are able to be seen, regardless of where you are seated in the auditorium. Please let us know if there is anything we can help with to ensure that your children (and family) can attend. We really want to have as many students participating as possible. It is going to be great!!
Planning for 2025-2026
Our planning for next year is underway. We sent home a form with the oldest student (Kindergarten to Grade 5) to find out what your plans are for next year. Please complete the form and send it in ASAP. We are starting our staffing processes for next year and knowing how many students we are expecting, allows us to plan accordingly. We thank you in advance for your support in returning the form.
Scholastic Book Fair
The Scholastic Book Fair was a great success!! As promised, we would like to share the results!! We earned $5012.00 in rewards that we can use to supplement reading materials and other materials from Scholastic. Thank you to everyone who supported our school during book fair week!
Student Safety
Springtime brings out the bicycles, rollerblades and scooters. In addition, more students start to walk as well. We are asking all of our families to drive to school, to keep your eyes open for these young children.
Students are reminded to walk their bikes, etc. when on the school sidewalks and playgrounds. This will protect all pedestrians and yourselves.
Also, if staying at the playground after school, you are reminded that the area beside the playground is for drop off and pick up only. This is a 2-5 minutes stop zone. If you are choosing to stay to play for a bit, please park across the street or down further so as to keep this area flowing for all traffic

If you have completed your Police Check and our annual volunteer registration you are eligible to volunteer at our school. Please email the school at chaparral@cbe.ab.ca is you would like to come in on a regular basis. We are always looking for support to complete odd tasks throughout the school.
Please note, volunteering in individual classrooms is an independent teacher decision and is based on need for the support. There are many other ways to volunteer in the school. Please contact the office to find out more
From our School Council
Our next School Council meeting is Thursday, April 10 at 6:30pm.
We will be back in person as the CUPE Labour action is now over. Kindergarten and Phys Ed will be presenting.
Fun Lunch/Fun Snacks & Spirit Days
Our next Fun Lunch day is April 10. It is Boston Pizza.
Our next Spirit Day is Thursday, April 10. It is Career Day! Students are invited to dress up in a chosen uniform or attire to represent a favorite career. I wonder how many doctors or nurses or golfers or NHL players are in our midst?? Or any other wonderful possibilities. It will be fun to see how careers can be represented!!
Weekly Mantra
You Are Connected to Everything & Everything is Connected to You.
(SEL Competency – Responsible Decision Making & IELLF – Mind Domain)
When you smile at a friend, or help a bird, or even just enjoy a beautiful flower, you’re sharing a special link with all of them. It’s like a giant web where everyone and everything is tied together.
So, remember, you’re not just by yourself; you’re part of a big, amazing team. You matter, and everything you do matters, too!
Month at a Glance
We have moved to a Month at a glance calendar rather than in the weekly updates. It will be provided at the beginning of the month each month and updates will be posted on our website as they occur.
