Due to the election on April 28, we have had to move our in-school dress rehearsal for the concert to the morning of April 25.  This changes our ability to hold the April assembly on this date.  The new assembly date will be on May 2 now at 11:00am.  Kindergarten is hosting.

Planning for 2025-26

Please continue to send in your intentions for next year.  We are beginning the process of preparing for the next school year and it is very important to be able to plan for the correct number of students.  Please try to have these to us by Thursday of this coming week.  If you are planning to move schools and are staying within the CBE, please contact the office so that we can support with the necessary documents and guidance.

Student Lunches and Snacks

We have recently noticed an increase in the number of students who are coming to school without lunches and snacks.  We would like to remind all families that a healthy lunch and snacks for the day are an important part of being ready for learning.  Please let us know if you are experiencing difficulty in providing lunch and snack for your children.  We have resources that we can request if this is needed for our students.  In addition, we will continue to provide emergency lunches and snacks as needed.  Parents will be notified when we support your children in this way.

Volunteering at Chaparral School

If you have completed your Police Check and our annual volunteer registration you are eligible to volunteer at our school.  Please email the school at chaparral@cbe.ab.ca is you would like to come in on a regular basis.  We are always looking for support to complete odd tasks throughout the school.

Please note, volunteering in individual classrooms is an independent teacher decision and is based on need for the support.  There are many other ways to volunteer in the school.  Please contact the office to find out more.

From our School Council

Our next School Council meeting is Thursday, May 8 at 6:30pm

We will be in person. Kindergarten and Phys Ed will be presenting.  Grade 5 will be presenting.

Fun Lunch/Fun Snacks & Spirit Days

Our next Fun Lunch day is May 8.  It is Opa.

Our next Spirit Day is Thursday, May 8.  It is Favourite Colour Day! Students are invited to dress up in their favourite colour from head to toe (if desired)!  It will be so cool to see all of the colours of the rainbow displayed.  I am so curious to see what colour is the most favourite among our students and staff.

Weekly Mantra

Don’t Wait for Things to be Great to be Grateful.

 (SEL Competency – Self-Awareness & IELLF – Spirit Domain)

Don’t wait for everything to be perfect to feel thankful! Look around and find the good in each day, even in the small things. When we choose gratitude, every moment becomes a little brighter!"
