Thank you
We would like to thank everyone who came out to our meet the teacher open house on Thursday evening. It was wonderful to see some familiar faces and get to know some new families. We hope the evening was enjoyable and valuable for you also.
Pedestrian Safety
The incident involving a pedestrian and a vehicle, that occurred Friday morning in our community, reminds us all, of the importance of pedestrian safety. To keep our students and community safe, please remember the following:
- Always use the marked crosswalks to cross the road.
- Wait for cars to stop before proceeding and make eye-contact with the driver.
- Walk, do not run when crossing.
- Always walk bicycles and scooters when in a crosswalk.
Thank you for doing your best to stay safe.
Dogs on School Property
This is a reminder that dogs are not allowed on School Property. If you are a pet owner, this is for your protection as well as our students. We would not want anyone to be involved in an unexpected situation because of a negative interaction. This is a city-wide bylaw and not specific to Chaparral School. Please see Responsible Pet Ownership Bylaw for more information. Thank you for helping our students and your pets safe.
Student Lates & Absences
Please be sure to connect with the office if your child is going to be late, absent or if you need to pick them up early. The school phone number is 403-777-6424.
The attendance line is option ‘1’. Extension ‘0’ will get you through to one of our office staff. The attendance line is open 24/7, so you can call and leave a message at any point of the day or night.
You are also welcome to email the school at chaparral@cbe.ab.ca. If you are emailing your child’s teacher to acknowledge your child’s attendance, please also include this main email for the school to ensure it is registered through the office.
Also, if your child will not be taking the bus at the end of the day, please call the school to let us know.
