Spring Concert Ticket Information

The Spring Concert will focus on our students in Grades 4 – 6 and will take place on May 1 and 2.  Students with the last names starting with A-K are asked to attend the concert on May 1.  Students with the last name starting with L-Z are asked to attend on May 2.

Each student will be issued 3 tickets to share with their families.  All audience members MUST have a ticket to gain entry to the concert. This includes small children and babies as they count into our fire code capacity.  Tickets will be collected at the door.  Families who would like to have more members attend, are asked to attend one of the dress rehearsals in the afternoon of the same concert evening.

Thank you in advance for your understanding as these limits are based on safety guidelines and fire code policies, not school-based decision making.

APEGA Science Night

On Thursday April 18, Chaparral School hosted APEGA, for a Science Night with students and families.  The event was met with much enthusiasm from our community and the sponsors.  We are so thankful to everyone who came out and enjoyed their evening with us.  We hope to do this again in future years.

Farewell to our Student Teachers

We would like to acknowledge the 6 student teachers who have been part of our school community since February this year.  Ms. Koukias has already had her last day with us, on Friday April 19.  Ms. Sosnoski, Ms. Armstrong, Mr. Reimche, Ms. Wallace and Ms. Walker will be with us until this Friday.  Thank you for all you have done to support our students and Congratulations on completing your course work!  All the best in your teaching careers.

Spirit Day

Our next Spirit Day is May 9.  It will be Favourite Colour Day. Students are invited to wear as many pieces of clothing in their favorite colour as they can or want to.  It will be fun to see what colour shows the strongest presentation on this day.

Moving forward, the Spirit Days for the rest of the year are:

  • May – Favorite Colour Day
  • June – Backward/Opposite Day

We will continue with the ranked favorites list as we begin again in September before setting our new list for next school year.

Weekly Mantra

I stand up for others. (SEL Competency: Responsible Decision Making, Social Awareness)

Standing up for others shows kindness and strength. Being strong means doing what you know is right, even when it feels hard. It is the most important thing because nothing can beat kindness. It sits quietly beyond all things and helps to bring light to our lives and to our world.
